The housing section of the coops have an wire mesh ventilation area (11 cm wide) to allow the breeze to flow through this area of the coop. You’ll find your chickens sitting comfortably on the cool ground beneath the housing section on a hot summer day. Optional ‘winter weather shields’ can be purchased to fit over the ventilation area for an additional $40. This includes a ‘triangle’ shaped shield that fits in the inside of the coop, to further close in the housing section, giving your chickens a warm, sheltered area in the cooler months.
Royal Rooster coops have also been designed using Zincalume materials, which reflect light to help reduce the temperature inside the coop in the summertime.
