Q. Can I get my coop in Colorbond?
A. Yes, there are five Colorbond colours that we regularly have in stock. These are Deep Ocean, Cottage Green, Manor Red, Pale Eucalypt and Wilderness. Due to the increased costs of materials for Colorbond coops, each coop is $35 extra. Alternative Colorbond colours can be ordered specially, however there will be a small delay in delivery. If you chose a Colorbond coop the corrugated iron walls and the housing section door will feature this colour. The remainder of the coop will be made using zincalume materials.
Q. How long will it take for my coop to arrive from when I place the order?
A. This largely depends on courier time following dispatch. If you order a standard coop (ie not an alternative Colorbond colour), you can expect to receive your coop within 2-3 weeks. We aim to get orders out promptly and will notify you if it is likely that your order will be delayed.
Q. How many chickens can I accommodate in each coop?
A. The 'Queen Coop' can accommodate 4 – 6 full sized chickens and the 'Princess Pen' can accommodate 2 – 3 full sized chickens.
Q. Is this coop suitable if we live in a fox prone area?
A. For people who live in country areas where foxes are known to be a problem, we have the option of a mesh floor that can be added to the standard coops. These floors are made of large sized steel mesh, allowing your chickens to scratch on the ground below, but preventing dogs or foxes from digging their way in. These floors are available for an additional $35 for either sized coop.
Q. What tools do I need to assemble the coop?
A. You'll need only an adjustable spanner or both a standard size 13 and size 21 spanner. The coops are very simple to assemble and come with easy to follow instructions.
