Loading... Please wait...Q. How long will it take for my coop to arrive from when I place the order?
A. This largely depends on courier time following dispatch. Most coops arrive within 2-3 weeks following an order. We aim to get orders out promptly and will notify you if it is likely that your order will be delayed.
Q. Are these coops suitable if we live in a fox prone area?
A. For people who live in country areas where foxes are known to be a problem, we have the option of a mesh floor that can be added to the standard coops. These floors are made of large sized steel mesh, allowing your chickens to scratch on the ground below, but preventing dogs or foxes from digging their way in. These floors are available for an additional $40 ($50 for the Chicken Castle Royale).
Q. What tools do I need to assemble the coop?
A. For the A-frame and Square-frame coops, you'll need only a Phillips head screw driver and a couple adjustable spanners to put your coop together. The coops are very simple to assemble and come with easy to follow, illustrated instructions. For the 2-Storey coops (Chicken Castles) you'll also need an electric drill and a Phillips head driver to screw on the roof panels. If you don’t have access to an electric drill, please let us know and we’ll pre-drill some holes in the iron for you.
Q. Can I get my coop in Colorbond?
A. Yes, there are three Colorbond colours that you can chose from. These are Cottage Green, Pale Eucalypt and Wilderness. Due to the increased costs of materials for Colorbond coops, each coop is $40 extra ($50 for the Chicken Castle Royale).
Q. Where can I get chickens in my area?
A. A good place to find breeders in your area is to go to www.backyardpoultry.com. This website has a great forum as well as a list of breeders throughout Australia. Alternatively, the yellow pages is a good place to go to find a local fodder store. They are likely to sell feed for your chickens and either sell point-of-lay chickens themselves, or know where you can find some.
