ALUMINIUM FRAME

Unlike steel or timber, chicken coops made with aluminium frames will not rust, rot nor deteriorate in the weather. Your Royal Rooster coop will look just as great in many years' time due ot the durable materials that are used in its construction. Royal Rooster's specially designed aluminium is made with u-shaped channels in which the mesh or mini-fluted iron slots in directly. This means that there are no ugly fixings on either side of the panels to keep the materials in place. No welds or sharp edges on the mesh to be concerned about. 

Black Frame Optional Upgrade: The coops as standard are made with silver (clear anodized) aluminium framework, however black andoised frame is also available as an optional upgrade. 

STANDARD / MINI MESH

The sides of the Chicken Palaces with Large Extension are made with galvanised steel mesh which has wire that is 2.5mm thick and has 25mm x 25mm squares. This mesh is very strong and will not be chewed through by a fox trying to gain entry to your chicken coop!

Mini Mesh Optional Upgrade: If rodents or snakes are a particular concern where you live, you may consider upgrading the mesh size on your coop to the 12.5mm x 12.5mm x 1.24mm mesh which helps to keep these extra pests out of your coop. 

MINI CORRUGATED IRON

The side walls, back wall and part roof of the Chicken Palace with Large Extension is clad with Zincalume (silver) mini corrugated iron. This is Bluescope steel made in Australia and is not cheaper imported materials. A large section of the roof is also mesh to allow sunlight to shine through. 

Colorbond Optional Upgrade: The Chicken Palace with Large Extension is also available in a choice of 4 Colorbond colours. These colours can also look great with the black frame upgrade. These colours include Woodland Grey, Pale Eucalypt, Deep Ocean and Monument with custom Colorbond colours also available upon request. 

MAXIMUM VENTILATION

Keeping your chickens well ventilated in summer is very important. Chickens can withstand quite hot or cold conditions as long as they have proper ventilation. Royal Rooster coops are designed and made in Australia, taking this into consideration. The housing section on the Chicken Palace with Large Extension is fully open to allow a breeze to keep your chickens cool as they perch at night in their coop. 

Weather Shield Optional Upgrade: Also available with these coops is an optional 'weather shield' (as pictured). This provides extra protection to your chickens in cold or windy weather. This removable shield encloses the housing area but still allowing a gap to you to walk through to collect the eggs and for your chickens to come and go. 

ROOF

The first part of the roof of the Chicken Palace with Large Extension is made of mini corrugated iron (2.3m), providing shade from the sun and shelter from rain in the wet months. The three extension sections of the coop (3.6m) are made from mesh to allow extra sunlight to shine through in this section of the coop. A full solid iron roof can be quoted upon request. 

OPEN FLOOR DESIGN

These walk in coops have an open floor to allow your chickens to scratch up the soil beneath their coop and to have the pleasure of a dust bath when needed.

Fox Proof Floor Optional Upgrade: If you live in an area know to foxes, optional 'fox proof floors' can also be purchased for protection from these predators. The large sized mesh floor (150mm x 100mm rectangles) still means your chickens can scratch at the soil but a fox digging under the side of your coop won't be able to gain entry. A great way to make this less noticable is to add extra soil or straw on top that your chickens can scratch around in. 

ACCESS DOORS

The Palace style of coop has a large door at the front allowing easy entry into the coop. This door is 1.66m high. If you need your door positioned differently to the pictures, please enquire as this can be done for a modification fee. 

Manual Chicken Door: If you plan to regularlly free range your chickens, you may like to install a chicken hatch door. Royal Rooster now offer both a manual door or an auto door. The manual chicken door comes with a clear slide up perspex door. You simply slide it up fro the outside of your coop has hook onto the mesh to stay open. This can be fitted to any mesh area you prefer on your coop.

Auto Chicken Guard Door Opener: If you are needing an automatic door on a timer, then the quality Chicken Guard Premium auto doors can be integerated into one of the panels of your chicken coop. Just tell us where you'd like this positioned when ordering.

WOODEN LAYING BOXES (optional)

Chickens need a nice cosy place to lay their eggs. A flock of around 6 chickens will all share the one laying box, each taking it in turn to lay their eggs. For most owners of backyard chickens, 1-2 nest boxes are adequate.  

External Nest Box Optional Upgrade: A popular coop upgrade is the external nest box allows you to collect your eggs from outside your coop. It also gives your chickens even more room for perching inside their housing section with the wooden nest boxes tucked away in this special nest box enclosure. These can be made to fit the left hand or right hand side of the coop or both with one on each side! This enclosure holds two wooden nest boxes which will be supplied if ordering this upgrade. 

Wooden Laying Boxes Optional Upgrade: If you are not requiring the external nest box, then the wooden laying boxes can still be ordered individually. 

WOODEN PERCHES

Two wooden perches 42mm wide, 19mm thick and 1600mm long are provided for your chickens to perch on in the housing area of your coop. 

CHICKEN FEEDERS & DRINKERS

A popular addition to a coop purchase is the Royal Rooster drinker and feeder sets. Designed specifically for Royal Rooster coops, these hook straight onto the mesh of your coop and make keeping chickens that much easier. These are available with either a single drinker cup or twin cups. The cups are auto filling which means that when the water level goes down, the cup automatically refill. The feeder also includes a rain cover to protect your feed from the wet weather. 

If you order this coop in the smaller mini-mesh, we'll include a pack of brackets and zip ties which are needed for attaching this set to your mesh walls. 

ANCHOR KIT (optional)

If you're concerned about your coop in strong winds, you can now order a 4 pack anchor kit to secure your coop to concrete.

DELIVERY INSURANCE (optional)

This covers the replacement or repair of your coop if damaged in transit with TNT as well as the freight to transport damaged parts back to us and new parts back over to you. Only $15 for peace of mind. Highly recommended.

ASSEMBLY REQUIREMENTS

These coops are straightfoward to put together and come with detailed, illustrated instructions. You’ll need a rubber mallet, an electric drill and a number 2 Philips-head driver. Assembly time should be between 4-5 hours depending on skill level. If you order a coop with mini mesh walls, a pair of pointy nose pliers is also handy.

LEAD TIME & FREIGHT

All coops are made in our purpose built premises on Theen Ave, Willaston in South Australia. Lead times on orders can vary depending on the time of the year and other factors out of our control. Please click here to see that latest lead time on orders.

TNT generally takes between 1-2 weeks to deliver items once picked up from us. Picking up from a TNT depot rather than having your coop delivered to your home can save quite a lot in delivery costs. So that is also an option when you go to check out.
